What We Believe

What we Believe about the Scriptures

We believe the Bible is the infallible Word of God and that all scripture (old and new testament) governs the lives of Christians. (2 Peter 1:20  & 21)

About God

There is only one God (Deuteronomy 6:4). He is the creator of heaven and earth, and all living beings. He has revealed himself to humanity as the Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost.

Father

God is a spirit (St. John 4:24). He is the first and the last, and besides Him there is no God (Isaiah 44:6). There was no God formed before Him; neither shall there be after Him (Isaiah 43:10)

Son

And she shall bring forth a son and thou shall call His name Jesus for He shall save His people from their sins (Matthew 1:21).

Holy Ghost

The Holy Ghost is not a third person in the Godhead, but rather the spirit of God, the spirit of the resurrected Christ. The Holy Ghost is a Comforter that dwells in the hearts and lives of every believer (St. John 14:16-26).

About Salvation

Man was created in the image of God, but by exercise of his own will, he transgressed the will of God and fell into sin. His only hope of redemption is through Christ Jesus; the son of God.

Conditions of Salvation

We believe that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Repentance to God for every believer is necessary for the forgiveness of sin. (Romans 3:23)

Evidence of Saving Faith

Saving Faith is by the water baptism, by immersion, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ is for the remission of sin. (Acts 2:38; Romans 6:3-4)

Baptism of the Holy Ghost

The baptism of the Holy Ghost is promised by God to all who repent and believe. It is evidenced by speaking in tongues in a language unknown to the speaker, as the Holy Spirit gives utterance. Speaking in other tongues as the spirit of God gives utterance is a manifestation God has given as the witness or sign of the baptism of the Holy Ghost (Acts 10:46).
